The European Women's Circle's traditional politico-cultural tour took a group of 20 women to London from May 30th to June 2nd, 2013.

The capital of Great Britain grew out of 2 millenia of history into a vibrant, modern metropolis. Our group encountered both the world-renowned British courtesy and typical architectural style of both magnificent edifices and residential buildings.

As usual, the chairwoman Daniela Topp-Burghardt had arranged for meetings with political dialogue partners. The participants had the opportunity to talk to three female members of the conservative party about women's policies and European politics. The successes and problems of EU political efforts are similar on both sides. We feel connected by our common goal.

During our talks, we got to know and appreciate each other. It was important to all participants to see that friendships between people of different EU member states contribute to the betterment of international understanding, and therefore furthers the peaceful state of Europe.

After the talk in May had introduced the group to social and political topics in Great Britain, the trip's participants enjoyed an expansive cultural program on location. Our appreciation and knowledge of Great Britain's culutral history was deepend by visits to the Houses of Parliament, the Tower, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, the National Gallery, the British Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
